Lamentations 3:21-23 says, "Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."

All that to say that Jeremy and I are on the brink of some extreme changes in our life since we are almost done with the college portion of our lives. Jeremy has accepted a job in Salem, Oregon working for Quincy engineering and will start in April. He will be designing bridges and roadways mostly for the state. Paul, Rebekah, and Elysia Schweitzer
God has also given me the opportunity to work and feel productive. A couple from our Sunday school class (the Schweitzers) had a baby nine weeks ago and Rebekah the mother is not getting enough sleep. I go a few hours in the morning to let her sleep. It is good to see the reciprocity. They are able to bless us as we in turn bless them. Just when I was getting anxious about what I should do now that I am out of school God provided.

We hope you also share in God's goodness throughout the year no matter what happens. God is good, His love endures, and He is faithful.

Looking Back and Forth

Looking back:
This past year has been a whirlwind of new and exciting things Jeremy and I experienced together. The most recent being that I (Carri) have finished my studies at OSU. I have to finish one math class through correspondence from PSU to finish up, but after that I will have a B.S. in Anthropology. Jeremy and I agree that our trips to Missouri and Crater Lake were some of the best times of the year, but we also cherish the simple things like dinner and a movie we relished a couple days ago for our anniversary. The last highlight of the year I will hit upon is spending time with my brother and sister-in-law and their twin girls. It has been a delightful experience of watching the girls grow and developmentally mature. Here are a few pictures of the twins named Faith and Hope.


Looking Forward:
Well, I am out of school, but I have no clue yet what God has in store for me. Jeremy has one full term left and one extra class he will finish in the spring while he starts work in an engineering firm. The exciting news is that Jeremy already has a job offer and we are hoping a few more are to come. Jeremy has not made a decision as of yet of where he will work, but we know God has provided at least one job opportunity for us. Last Summer Fling

School starts tomorrow so for our last summer fling Jeremy and I were able to set some time aside and go to Crater Lake this past weekend. We had a blast together. It was pretty cold and windy, but it was well worth the trip. We climbed the highest peak, Mt. Scott, rising to about 9,000 ft. (bottom left picture). We were also able to go down to the lake and see how clear it is. My personal favorite was going to what is called the pinnacles. They are formations of ash from past volcanic activity. They stand tall along the banks of Sand River (pictures in link below).

Girls Weekend Out

Mom, our friend Ginger, her daughter Stacie and I went to Seaside, OR. It was the best weather I personally have ever seen at Seaside. We have made this outing an annual event where we stay the night at Seaside, shop, and eat. We hit all of the same stores and eat the same food. These times have become special to me as I have become older. Mom and Ginger no longer treat me like a teenager, but treat me like an equal who has the same trials and joys in life as they do. We had a good time of meaningful conversation along with antics and laughter. Thinking about the day when I will no longer be able to go on this annual trek saddens me and makes me appreciate the time I do have with friends and family on this earth and in this state.

Flying Fish

This past Monday Jeremy and I were able to spend some time together, which has been rare over the last week. Jeremy went on a business trip and then went on a backpacking trip. So as in celebration of finally having some time with one another we went for a drive to Mill City, Oregon where we ate lunch and went for a little walk to the river that runs through the town. We were reminded throughout our time apart how necessary it is to spend time together.

Middle Sister Ascent

In August my brother and I (Jeremy) went hiking with some friends from my Young Married's Interaction Group from church. It was part of their annual backpacking trip. It was a very difficult climb for me -- but I miraculously made it to the top. I had a good time and I hope my brother did too. (He got a bit sick on the trip... which is not fun on the side of a mountain.) The bottom photo is south sister from middle sister. The middle mountain is the view from our basecamp. It was a great experience.

Friends Come To Visit

Jeremy and I were blessed to meet up with our good friends from New Tribes while in Missouri. They were our first neighbors as a married couple and we have special first memories with them. They have completed the New Tribes training and are going out to the mission field prayerfully in December.They were blessed with a new addition to their family, baby Micheal. He is 10 months old and is full of life. Please pray with us as they prepare to go out.

Road Trip to Missouri

On our way to Missouri we were able to stop at a few national parks such as Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, the Redwoods and the Petrified Forest. My favorites were Yosemite and the Petrified Forest. I thought the geology and history of the Petrified Forest was the most interesting. We had a good trip and are having a good time in Missouri.

The Beach

Last weekend Jeremy and I went for a hike to Cape Lookout in Tillamook, Oregon and then went to visit my sister and her new fiance at Cannon Beach where they are working for the summer. We took engagement photos of them and they took some photos of us. We had a good time together celebrating the new life they are about to embark upon.

Mary's Peak

Two days after taking our last finals before summer we went out for a drive and to Mary's Peak. It was a beautiful day, so we packed up our new Hibachi BBQ and went for the mountains. We BBQ'd off the back of our truck and played cribbage enjoying the sun and each other's company. Here is a picture of the exceptionally beautiful view.
